Sails on Pine Island Sound

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” Mark Twain

Alondra

One of the joys of living in Southwest Florida is the Gulf of Mexico and all the surrounding bays, sounds, and creeks. I can’t explain it, but I am much more content being near water. Being on the water in a boat is even better, and sailing is the ultimate. Alondra is one of the largest and most beautiful sailboats to regularly ply the waters of Pine Island Sound. She is a shallow draft cruising ketch specifically designed for our shallow waters. Based on the plans of the L. Francis Herreshoff classic Goldenball , she was built on Pine Island and launched in 1985.

Alondra is available for custom cruises.
