The delicate, exotic orchid is the most highly coveted flowering plant. It is said to represent strength, love, beauty, and luxury. The cattleya orchid is the queen of orchids, the corsage orchid. I particularly liked this tightly cropped image of a cattleya bloom from my garden, especially the frilly edges of the petals. This plant has survived in my garden for almost twenty years now, at times happily and at times not so much. But she gives me such lovely blooms once or twice a year and for that I am most grateful.
Many more images of plants and flowers from my Tropical Garden are here.

26 Sep 2012I love all orchids. The white ones are so delicate looking, but I more often than not, go for the more brightly coloured ones. Twenty years is a good long time. Well done to you and your Cattelya. 🙂
