SUNDAY POST : Architecture

Bangkok Airport
Suvarnabhumi Airport – Bangkok, Thailand

Let’s face it, I just am not a big city guy. Especially the huge, modern mega-cities. They intimidate me. Too crowded, too fast moving, too much glass and steel. Changing planes inĀ theirĀ airports is as close as I get.

Now don’t get me started on airlines. Thanks to Delta Airlines I was stuck in Bangkok’s airport for 24 hours last year while trying to get to Calcutta, India, and managed a few decent photos while working through my jet lag and reflecting on the arrogance of airlines. You can read my rant here.

I know I miss a lot so I’ll be checking out your posts at Jake’s Sunday Post:Ā Architecture.

    1. Actually it arrived with me, though I was told it would arrive a day later. Then it took another day of Indian bureaucracy and red tape to get it!

      1. when life seems to pile one frustration on top of the next, i often ‘break’ into a fit of laughter.. it’s laugh or get really really angry, and the latter doesn’t agree with me too much! or else, like a typical woman, i finally break and cry!

  2. and i thought being stranded up in the clouds for half an hour was bad enough…

    1. Delays are almost routine these days, it seems. Thank you for your comment and visit.

  3. There are much worse airports to be stuck in, JFK, for example. šŸ™‚

  5. I would be upset if I was stuck at an airport for 24 hours too. Nice picture.

  6. Give me those wonderful, small villages of any nation or culture and I and a very happy man.

    1. I am right there with you Harold. Thanks.

  7. Well, at least you got a stellar shot out of your time as a Bangkok Airport Captive šŸ™‚

    1. Yup. I had penty of time to wander around. šŸ™‚

  8. Great perspective of the airport. I don’t remember the Bangkok airport looking like this, but then again we were running and rushing to catch our flight.

    1. Rushing to catch a flight is always better than being stuck in an airport. šŸ™‚
