Mid afternoon and the mountains disappear behind a curtain of fog. Though near the equator, the temperature drops; a chilling breeze gently stirs leaves. Twin pagodas appear to be floating, or perhaps just the peaks of much grander temples under the water. Unchanged for centuries. The mist dampens all sounds save for a light wind whistling across the lake. The scene is ethereal as if a dream.
