Idealizing the Idyllic

Idealizing the Idyllic

Indian Rocks Beach Impression

I discovered this small cottage just steps from the beach while exploring tiny Indian Rocks Beach on Florida’s West Coast. This community of modest beach houses sprang up in the mid part of the last century and now, sadly, is giving way to lavish hotels and condos.

This Spanish style pastel bungalow caught my eye. Sitting pretty on a postage stamp size lot with its two palm tree sentinels. Such an idyllic setting.

  1. It looks very Caribbean. I’ve neve been to Florida and had no idea there was such quirky houses and areas in that state. I shall have to expand my reading about the place!

    1. The cottages were built in the 50″s, but sadly only a relative few are being preserved. Florida certainly has its share of “quirkiness.” 🙂
