“My Secret Garden” is an imagined place. A place of solitude, a place for aloneness. A place to just be. To me, there are two sides to being alone. Loneliness is a painful, unhappy place. Being solitary is being aware of your presence rather than being uncomfortable with the absence of others. When alone is when my inner voice comes for a chat.
I love to be alone. I never found the companion that was so companionable as solitude.
___ Henry David Thoreau, ‘Walden’
My Secret Garden is a composite of seven photographs I recently made at Selby Botanical Gardens and a variety of textures and backgrounds.
