Photoessay: Auto Abstracts, part II

As I mentioned in my previous post, I tried to salvage my time at the Muscle Car Museum and it’s far from ideal shooting conditions. My thought process went like this: Try to use the harsh lighting and resulting hot spots on the car’s surfaces to an advantage. If I shot interesting lines and shapes, etc., tightly cropped at a very shallow depth of field, I may get some interesting results. Furthermore, I decided to process the images as low contrast B&Ws so the hot spots would become part of the composition, instead of distractions.

Certainly not my best work, but I enjoyed the challenge. The images were made with an OM‑D E‑M1 Mark II body and a 45 mm f 1.8 lens and were processed with Adobe’s Lightroom.
