Industrial abstracts – fine Art print collection

Blast Furnace Abstracts, Industrial Abstracts

I am pleased to announce my “Industrial Abstracts Collection” is now available for the first time as fine art prints. Some of the images were originally published in the 2017 edition of Lenswork’s “Seeing in Sixes.” Now all fifteen images are available as collectible prints in a variety of sizes. See the entire collection by clicking here.

I spent many hours over two different visits photographing an old defunct pig iron blast furnace a few years ago. To make images of such massive geometric shapes with their bold textures, lines, and angles was a phenomenal experience. Since then, when I revisit the two thousand plus images I am taken by certain areas of many of the images. Areas of intersecting shapes, or dramatic change of contrast, or interesting collision of lines and angles. Eventually, I would collect those photos into a separate folder, occasionally adding one or two or taking some out. When time permitted, I started cropping the images to reveal just that certain area. Ultimately, I converted them to black and white and added a lovely textured golden overlay to each.

Thus, a very satisfying, worthwhile project came to be. And now I am anxious to share it with you by offering the Collection as Fine Art Prints. And I print them personally for you. No mail order, high volume printing. Please take a look at the entire collection and see for yourself. And, thank you.
