The early morning light is often magical at the Blowing Rocks Preserve in Jupiter, Florida. The sapphire-blue water washing over the verdant moss-laden coquina rocks can be quite beautiful. Add to that pastel yellows and pinks of the rising sun reflecting off the moisture-laden clouds and you have quite a beautiful scene. Worth getting up for. While water does, in fact, blow through some of the rocks it is not a reliable or predictable occurrence. The tide must be high and a steady wind has to be blowing from the east for the rocks to “blow.”
It’s been three years since we visited the Blowing Rocks Preserve. I took several hundred images while there but never processed them. Until this week. We have been self-quarantining for almost three weeks. I have had a lot of “found time” to spend rediscovering places visited and images made. You can see more Florida posts by clicking here.
Take care and stay well during these scary times
