The ubiquitous Flip Flop is the unofficial dress shoe here on the island I call home and where summer lasts most of the year. Back in the day, when I was a kid, we called them thongs and they cost less than a dollar. But nowadays, thong seems to refer to a totally different article of clothing. Times change.
