The Ubiquitous Flip Flop

The Ubiquitous Flip Flop

I blew out my flip-flop
Stepped on a pop-top
Cut my heel had to cruise on back home
But there’s booze in the blender
And soon it will render
That frozen concoction that helps me hang on

The ubiquitous, vibrantly colorful Flip Flop is the unofficial dress shoe here on the island I call home and where summer lasts most of the year. Back in the day, when I was a kid, we called them thongs and they cost less than a dollar a pair. But nowadays, thong seems to refer to a totally different article of clothing. Times change.
