Hanoi at Night ~ Weekly Photo Challenge: Urban

A city is simply a passel of people packed in a pot like pickles. _David Detzer

Hanoi, Vietnam, like most large cities, never sleeps.

Everyone seems to be constantly on the move and usually on a motorbike. A motorbike is a way of life in Hanoi, a magic carpet.

Life happens outside, on the sidewalks …and in the alleyways.

Sidewalks are not for walking. Motorbikes rest on the sidewalks or in the living room.

People dine on the sidewalks.

Or dine overlooking the sidewalks.

Hoan Kiem Lake in the center of Hanoi’s Old Quarter is especially beautiful at night.

The Huc (rising sun) Bridge leading to the Ngoc Son Temple is built in the classic Vietnamese style and is lovely any time of day.
