“Seasonal Fruit II”, a still life photograph, is one of my new works. Actually, not exactly new. I created it a few months ago and promptly forgot about it – until yesterday. It has quickly become a favorite. I love the rich, saturated primary colors of the fruit. The yellows and reds of the cherries and plums and the deep blue of the concord grapes blend very well together. “Seasonal Fruit” is reminiscent of and an ode to many of the Dutch and Flemish still-life painters of the seventh century. In case your interested, the Rijksmuseum, the national museum of Holland, in Amsterdam houses the world’s foremost collection of paintings of the Dutch Masters.
