A Prickly Conversation

“A Prickly Conversation”

You may know how it feels. You walk up to two or three friends engaged in a conversation. You hesitate, not sure what they are talking about. Maybe they are talking about you. Could be a prickly situation. So you just stand there for a moment, looking around, wondering.

Recently, I bought a few prickly pears to use in another still life composition. They are a funny, odd-looking fruit that comes from a cactus that is native to the desert regions of the American Southwest. While not the least bit anthropomorphic in shape, the more I fooled with these little guys the more human-like they became. They liked to stand upright and looked so serious. And they would lean into each other like they had something important to discuss. I told them they could talk about anything BUT politics.

Do you think this COVID thing is effecting my sanity?

Thanks for indulging me. Stay well and stay safe.
