I have been experimenting with infrared photography using my iPhone 13 Pro. And the keyword here is “experimenting”. There is a lot of trial and error. But I do see some interesting possibilities. Infrared is a part of the color spectrum we can not see. Creating such an image with an iPhone requires covering its lenses with an infrared filter, allowing only light in the infrared spectrum to pass through. The filter is very dark which results in unusually long exposures. So, mounting the phone on a tripod is often necessary. The RAW file then requires significant post-processing. I have been using Lightroom for mobile for conversion to black and white, adjusting exposure, contrast, sharpening, and noise reduction. I then use the app, Snapseed, for some final tweaking.
