Tropical Foliage in Infrared

Tropical Foliage in Infrared

A riot of tropical foliage at our local botanical gardens photographed in infrared. I used a 720nm infrared filter and iPhone 14Pro’s native camera. The filter allows only the infrared spectrum of light, light we can not see, onto the camera’s sensor. The image is then converted to black and white and processed as usual. The way the infrared light spectrum reflects off of green foilage often gives the scene a surreal, ghostly feel. For an introduction to infrared photography click here.
