“Householders, the homeless and monastics
in mutual dependence
both reach the true Dharma….” _ the Buddha
Mysticism is at the heart of all religions, including Buddhism. To many Buddhist in Laos, the act of alms giving is a daily ritual that connects the average individual to a spiritually developed person or mystic, a Buddhist monk. It is a symbolic connection. Each is showing respect and humbleness for the other as well as for the alms giver’s deceased loved ones.
The above Image is a composite of seven photographs I took during an early morning “Alms Walk” in Luang Prabang, Laos recently.
There is a lot more Mystical stuff going on in Ailsa’s Backpack.
