We travel, initially, to lose ourselves. Then we travel to find ourselves. To open our hearts and minds to learn more about the seven billion other people we share this big blue ball with. The greatest joy of traveling is to simply leave all my beliefs and notions behind, and to open my eyes wide and try to see the world without any preconceptions.

If you will take a little time to chat with the people you meet along the way, you soon realize that our similarities far exceed our differences. Even though our looks and beliefs may differ, our wants and needs, our hopes and desires are all about the same.

.. it’s such a thrill meeting people of different cultures, learning about and from them. It’s changed my perception about life, humanity and spirituality.

Oh, the Places We See
17 Nov 2014What a fabulous collection of faces! I wanted to tell you which one I liked best, but can’t choose. Perhaps the girl in the boat is the most fun expression, but I love all the faces, especially the ones with lines gathered over time. Thanks for sharing.

19 Nov 2014The photo you mentioned was taken at an exhibition of World Press Photographers. The indigenous woman happened to be standing in front of one of the photos. I thought it quite powerful too. Thanks Carol.
