Imagine spending your days with other scholars in a beautiful but dimly lit library built in the most beautiful Baroque style, surrounded by hundreds of ancient codices and scores of handcrafted globes. Imagine you’re there, in the late sixteenth century, at the height of the Age of Discovery. Imagine the heated, passionate discussions of exploration, sailing the uncharted seas, seeking unknown lands, and finding untold riches. Do we dare dream of sailing through the air to undiscovered, unimagined places?
The main photo is of the library of the Clementium in Prague, the Czech Republic, arguably the most beautiful library in the world. Other elements were added to satisfy my imagination. All components were stacked in layers in Photoshop. Unwanted portions of each were masked or erased out so only the wanted portion of each layer was revealed.
