Up the Lazy River | Hiding from COVID-19

Manatee River with Fog - Up the Lazy River

We are taking COVID-19 very seriously. Sheltering in place for almost three weeks, now. And it’s not all that bad. I am catching up on a lot of projects and starting new ones. My creativity was in need of a challenge, though.

I have been wanting to photograph a short stretch of the nearby Manatee River. It is very shallow and lazy this time of year but can be quite beautiful when the light is good. BTW, there are no Manatees in our Manatee River. And I knew I would be the only one there at sunrise, so social distancing would not be a problem.

Manatee River with Fog - Up the Lazy River

A few days ago, I awoke in the early dawn, to the most fog I can recall in this area. OK, I thought, I will photograph a lazy, foggy river today. And I did!
I got some fresh air, a little physical and creative exercise, a few decent images, and I was home before breakfast.

What are you doing to keep your creative juices flowing during these scary times?
