Creativity?

Creativity? Not much creativity going on around here lately. Life keeps getting in the way. Along with a dose of burnout these past months.

Yesterday I find myself sitting in front of the computer looking at a few recent iPhone images, thinking it’s time to get out of this funk. Do something creative. Anything.

I like the Golden Barrel Cactus image I made over the holidays. Its symmetry. In Lightroom, I do some tweaking, cropping, and converting it to black and white. Then turquoise and white. On the Photoshop. Additional textural layers and handwritten text are added. Color adjustments, curves, levels, etc.

Nature’s abstract mandala I think. No great art here but it felt good. Getting the creative juices flowing again felt good.

  1. Know how you feel regarding creativity. Been there, still there. You’ve made a start and that’s good. Keep it up!

    1. Beginning to work through my funk. Was in the studio again and it felt good. Thanks for the encouragement.

  2. Hi Ron,
we experience it the other way round: There is a kind of explosion of creativity just lately. That’s because a lot of people self-isolate and have time to play around with ideas. We see that in Dina’s photographic society, in Master’s writing group and in the blogosphere as well.
All the best and may creativity come back to you soon

    1. Same here. Until the past few months. Frustration and burnout. Some new inspiration is leading me back into the studio. Thanks for your comments, Klausbernd.
