“Orange and Blue – a Still Life”
“Orange and Blue” is a slight change of tack from my usual still-life compositions. Typically, my still-life photographs are darker, fully saturated compositions with dark backgrounds. “Orange and Blue’ is a brighter, lighter scene, and the props’ shadows become part of the composition. The hues of the orange citrus fruit complement the blues of the glass. I enjoyed contemplating and creating the tableau and lighting and photographing it.
Thank you for stopping by this week. This Holiday weekend, please take a moment for prayerful thought for the children massacred this week in that Texas school and for their parents and loved ones. Give thanks to the men and women who protect and serve this country, both present and in the past.
Be safe. Be well.

Oh, the Places We See
30 May 2022Perfect composition! Reminds me of some of the Old Masters we just saw in Amsterdam! And, at first, I thought you might have had the Ukraine colors in mind when you put this together. Whatever inspired you . . . it was wonderful on this end!

31 May 2022Thanks so much. The Dutch Grand Masters have always been the basis for my inspiration.
