Geometry in Sails

Geometry in Sails

Boats, and especially sailboats, are things of beauty, a perfect merging of form and function. There are many Geometric shapes in the above image. The most obvious are probably the triangles, but there are also lines, arcs, rectangles. Can you spot them?

What about the shapes in the negative space? Can you identify the negative space in the photograph?

Be sure to see how other great minds see geometry.

  1. Ron…I really can relate to Geometry 1 and 2. I find photography on a sailboat fascinating. As you have so beautifully captured, the angles, lines and details are like little works of art. I wonder if we see more of this on a sailing vessel as we have more time to relax, view and ponder?

    1. I think you are right. And not just the beauty of the form and function of the various parts but how each relates to the beauty, form and function of the whole.

    1. Thanks for visiting . Your interpretation in nature is great.
