Shave and a Haircut…50 Rupees

Shave and a Haircut…50 Rupees

Much of life in India happens on the streets. Most goods and services are available along the sidewalks on busy thoroughfares, or in the shade of an ancient mango tree in the countryside. Barbering is no exception. For a long time, barbers were itinerant, traveling from village to village. Thus, their role was much more than providing grooming services for their male clients. They brought news and gossip and often had a hand in matchmaking.

Nowadays many barbers have moved indoors to small stalls or shops. And, as Indian men become more style conscious, full service salons are common in the bigger cities.

For a few extra rupees you can have your hair checked for lice by an expert.

Need dentures? You’ve come to the right place.
