Mahjong | Still Life Series

Mahjong Stille Life

Mahjong is a very popular tile-based game developed in China during the Qing dynasty during the mid to late 1800s. It quickly became popular throughout Asia and was brought to the US in the 1920s where it has taken on a life of its own.

The first of my still life mahjong series, this image is a composite of three separate photos. The first is my traditional still life image of the game pieces, a lamp, coins, and eyeglasses. Next, I sandwiched in a picture of a window frame to separate the foreground from the image of the trees in the background. The fairly complex process was done in my studio and with Photoshop.

Prints on paper or canvas are available as well as beautiful note cards. Please contact me for more information.  More of my still life images can be viewed here.

Thank you. Please be well and stay safe.
