The Old Copper Tea Kettle is one of my most recent Still Life compositions. I’ve had had the copper pot for some time and always thought I would use it in a supporting roll in a composition but that never worked out. It caught my eye the other day while looking for something else in my cabinet of props. The pot, with its dents, texture, and patina made for an interesting shape. So by making it the focal point of the composition seemed to work well. By knitting coppery hue with other elements such as the scar on the avocado, the broken vase, and the textured background united the image. I’m pleased with the image. What do you think?
For more of my compositions check out the Still Life Gallery page. And thank you.
