Jupiter Inlet in the Early Morning Light

Jupiter Inlet on the East Coast of Florida is beautiful and time of day but really shows off with the early morning light. You may recall my recent post on the Blowing Rocks along the nearby beach. Photographing the Blowing Rocks area at sunrise was the primary objective but with a little time on our hands, it was hard to not spend a little time making images of the idyllic Jupiter Inlet area. The light was fickle; great one minute and dark and muddy the next. Patience preservers as I hope these photographs attest.

Jupiter Lighthouse The Jupiter Lighthouse has shown its beacon since 1860.

The Jupiter Lighthouse, near the mouth of the Jupiter Inlet, was completed in 1860. It was maned continuously by lighthouse keepers or the US Coast Guard until it was automated in 1987.
