Illumination – the Blue Hour

Tampa at NightThe so called “Blue Hour” is probably the best time of day to photograph cityscapes.

The blue hour is that short period of time after the sun has set but the western sky is still slightly illuminated. Combine the soft glow of the night sky with city lights and reflect it all on water makes for an interesting city skyline photo.

Here are two images of downtown Tampa, Florida along the Hillsborough River.
