“Stripped Bass”
OK, “Stripped Bass” is not my usual “pretty picture” still life. More an image of resignation, I would say. But isn’t it really an image of textures? The obvious texture of the fish’s scales and fins. And, possibly, the less obvious texture of the wooden crate the fish rests on. Look closely for the cracked, mottled surface of the background that flows onto the right side of the wooden crate. The golden hues help connect the subject to its background.
